– An accomplished senior-level Chef, Reto brings a strong combination of international culinary experience and management skills in resort hotels, catering, fine dining, quick service applications, and private events. Reto’s inspiration comes from appreciating the beauty in the raw simplistic form of food and from that creating a composition of unique flavors and textures while seeking to maintain the integrity of all ingredients. Reto graduated from the prestigious Swiss Culinary School, where soon after he started his experience in Gstaad, Switzerland where he first served as demi-chef entremetier and then rostisseur/catering chef at the renowned Gstaad Palace, a five-star luxury hotel. In 2003 he moved to Hotel Schweizerhof, Trip Advisor’s #1 ranked hotel in the capital city of Bern, Switzerland. There he began as a chef saucier and moved up to junior sous chef, before leaving to serve as a captain in the Swiss Army in 2005 and 2006.

After a tour of duty, Reto returned to serve as an executive chef at Restaurant Sonne in Neuenkirch, Switzerland. In 2008 he moved to Miami Beach, Florida to work as a sous chef at La Paloma before taking on the role of chef de cuisine at the AAA Four-Diamond Hawks Cay Resort in Duck Key, Florida. He served as executive sous chef at Mia Francesca Trattoria in Raleigh, North Carolina, and executive chef at Bar Crudo, Miami Beach. Before starting his work with Wayne Eldred as chef de cuisine at the legendary Tarpon Bend Raw Bar & Grill in Coral Gables, he spent 2 years at the EPIC Hotel in Brickell.

Reto joined a dear friend up in New Jersey from 2017 to 2020, to take on the role as Director of culinary operations for Bareburger. His primary role was to open up new restaurants, hire and train management and staff, build vendor relations all while overseeing 5 locations.

In Reto’s spare time, he spends as much of it teaching and playing with his son. Reto loves to travel, hike, and when back home in Switzerland, hunt with his father and brother.  Growing up on a glacier, Reto has found a fond love for the salt life where he loves hanging out on a beach to relax and unwind.
